URGENT NOTICE
For the last 10 years most of my work and business has been done on my LizWaddellArtist Page on Facebook. Last week (13th October 2022) Facebook disabled my private account saying I had violated their community standards. (I believe I have been hacked as I would never post anything that would violate their standards). I am now unable to access my business account even though it still appears on Facebook.
If you wish to get in touch about anything, please
email me at liz@lizwaddell.com
or message me on here
And if anyone knows anything about how to get help from Facebook, I'd love to know!!
Thank you,
Liz x

LIZ WADDELL
Freelance Artist and Illustrator
My name is Liz Waddell and I’ve been a freelance professional artist since gaining my degree in Fine and Applied Art at the University of Ulster, Belfast in 2012.
My art always comes from the heart, usually based on the natural world around me. I work in a variety of media but always end up going back to colourful acrylic paints.
I do love working with a laser cutter and have spent a lot of time adapting my drawings to turn them into solid pieces of art that can be hung or stand alone. These are brought to life by lighting and movement.
I also have some commissioned work in the Causeway Hospital, Coleraine.
Contact me if you want any information on commission pieces, workshops or private tuition.

COMMISSIONS
Here are some commissions I have done for people of their pets. Please feel free to message me if you want to know more.
MOZZI
Mozzi was my first commission and although I was nervous about doing him I said I would have a go. I was surprised and delighted at the outcome - and so was the recipient.
OTTER
I gave a talk to the U3A about my artist's journey and afterwards was asked if I could do a painting of this little dog, Otter. I've tried to paint my own dog Morris loads of times but this was my first serious go at someone else's dog. Again they were pleased with the result.
CHARLIE
After painting Mozzi the same lady asked me to paint another horse so I was thrilled. I felt even more pleased with this one.

FREDDIE LOVES
Freddie Loves is written and illustrated by Liz. It is a book full of little characters, all called Freddie. They each have very different personalities and tastes. The book can be used to help children think about themselves and who they want to be.
SONGSTER LOUGHBOROUGH'S OWN WARHORSE
Songster is the true story of a horse called up to serve in World War One where he made friends and had adventures with his good friend Bert. A well written, informative story for all ages to enjoy. All proceeds from this book go to Loughborough Carillon Tower and War Museum

WILD THINGS KEYWORTH
WILD THINGS KEYWORTH - COLOURING COMPETITION – closing date 21st June 2021.
National Hedgehog Awareness week (2nd-8th May 2021) is just around the corner and to celebrate that I have painted this picture for a colouring competition.
As a follower of Wild Things Keyworth, I wanted to support the local initiative to inspire more neighbours to create “Hedgehog Highways” in the village.
As someone who enjoys and is inspired by nature I have tried to depict how our hedgehogs can benefit when we make gaps in fences, walls and under gates. It means they can reach feeding points and meet mates.
Choose your medium to colour the line drawing, pencil (graphite or coloured pencil), paint, collage or something else. Competition is open to adults and children alike.
We ask that you then take a photo of it and post to the Wild Things Keyworth main page or email: wildthingskeyworth@gmail.com with your completed work. There will be prizes for children and adults including signed books from my published work. The winning artwork will be displayed in The Simpler Life shop The Simpler Life Ltd on Main Street, Keyworth and on this page and PetsBits will also be supporting with prizes.
Good luck! Remember hedgehogs are nocturnal and generally start to come out for food around dusk.
The line drawing pdf to colour can be downloaded from our Wild Things: Keyworth group on FaceBook - the section called files which allows you to post pdfs or you can email wildthingskeyworth@gmail.com for a copy. Thanks
FREDDIES IN SCHOOLS
The Freddies are adored by children who love to hear how they were created and who they all are. When they've heard all about them they can design their own.
HEDGEHOG MASK COMPETITION
Alongside Wild Things Keyworth I devised the hedgehog mask competition. I designed a blank mask and children in the village were asked to colour it in. The Beavers in Keyworth all took part after having a talk on the endangered species.
FUNDRAISING AT PORTRUSH PRIMARY
I spent time working with Portrush Primary several times raising money for Tsunami victims. We involved the children from a Haiti orphanage getting them to doodle on triangles of paper. The whole of Portrush Primary did the same and then all the triangles were put together to make one massive boat picture. Lots of money and awareness was raised and the kids all had a lot of fun.
